Partying 08'12/12

It's the end of the year, and IT'S PARTY TIME!

We just had our LAB party at Natalia's place. It is my fourth time, and I actually feel good. :*) I remember that I wasn't very comfortable hanging out and talking to people at my first time.

I felt warm and taken care of. I had good food, but I deserved it because I also took my efforts cooking. I made Pork Ribs and Shanghai-Style Bakchoy. In the concern of it might be too salty, I also prepared vegi-rice. (Oh how considerate I am!) I also liked so much the grilled eggplant-tomato-green-pepper plate made by Laura (Slava's wife). It taste great! :p And I like Yuxuan's pumpkin bread. I was amazed because I don't know anything about baking ... and dessert.

I guess I am good at drinking in general. Although I've been really taken my control for the past one year. I only drank three glasses today: red wine, Martini, and hot wine. (Austrian-style; by Lukas) I don't know if it's the effects of alcohol, but I was in a better mood and really enjoyed the party -- I like to see everyone got red and became very talkative, passionate and different. :p

It's great to meet people from all over the world. I met a girl Ar-zu who is also an azerbaijan. She studied in Finland. Surprisingly there were at least two Taiwanese, although they are American-Taiwanese. I learned that the beer sold in Austria came in half-liter, and my friend, Lukas could drink like 8 liters per night. (And didn't get drunk)

Today is also Molly's defense day. She was GOOD! I can't imagine how someone can get so familiar with all the research and be so knowledgeable and confident. :*) Although she was really busy for the past one year, she was extremely nice and warm. She helped me out with my myocyte project: "the Markovian-based SCN5A mutant INa channel"
I'll miss Molly.

I remembered every smiles and hugs received at the party. I remembered the words and little random talks from people. I guess I just like holiday seasons and party. I also received a big big hug from Natalia, my PI. Although I become really nervous & fearful every time I talked to her ... although I felt bad asking her for recommendation letter"s" ... I feel all her support tonight, :*) which means I shall work harder and be more motivated. I wish I can do so.
